I've tried a few trouble shooting things but nothing worked.
What's even more annoying is that Finder will 'find' these files through the search, but as you can see in the second image, the path isn't listed as well, so if I was really trying to find a lost file, Finder would 'find' it, but I wouldn't be able to open it nor would I be able to know where it's located to find it myself. It's more annoying as I use the search function constantly to open and find files for work.
However, when I just browse Finder normally, I can go to a folder and open a file that way just fine. It treats the file as if it's an unknown file. Whenever I search through Finder (or if I'm using an app like Photoshop and opening/searching through there), Finder will 'find' the files, but as you can see in the image, when I try to open the file, I get that error. The error happens when searching for a file on my external LaCie hard drive through Finder. Haven't downloaded, installed, or uninstalled anything recently, haven't visited any new websites, having deleted anything I shouldn't have. I haven't updated my machine and literally haven't done anything differently since working on it yesterday. This is a new error that just started happening today.
